Engine No9 started as a little bar on the corner of 1st Ave North & 9th St North in Sept 2012.
From the beginning we have strived to produce an excellent product and within less than one year Jason Esposito had brought Engine No. 9 up from a little unknown stop, to the Engine that could. Engine has over 65 different kinds of beer in a bottle and some on tap. Engine also has a good variety of wines from Diabolo to Cakebread.
Our motto is pretty much “Prime Burgers.”and that’s what you get. Engine is a sports bar with TVs at every table and probably the premier destination in Tampa Bay Area to watch hockey. (Owners father and uncle are Tony & Phil Esposito who are both in the hockey hall of fame & founders of the Tampa Bay Lightning .)
Owner Jason Esposito is a certified Executive Chef and has worked at some of the best hotels & resorts in the South and the menu lends towards his Cajun/Creole style of cooking.
In December 2014, Jason opened a sister restaurant, Engine Rose, on the corner of 29th Street and Central Avenue at the west end of the now booming Grand Central District.
We do not take reservations. All seating is first come, first serve.
Each of our tables in the dining area can seat up to 5 guests.
Unfortunately parties larger than 5 will have to split up between 2 tables(depending on availability).
Due to limited space we can not push tables together or move them at all.
While we are more than happy to welcome anyone as a guest, be aware that we do not have a kids menu or high chairs.
Must be 21 to sit in bar area, including high tops.
Being a sports bar it can get loud, especially during hockey games.
